The ongoing US elections have had a direct impact on the Indian peninsula.
It is now clear that Biden has trumped Trump. Donald had been blowing the trump-et believing that he had the trumps in his deck. He expected to call the shots especially with the pandemic shots nowhere in sight. But just like India, the Lotus trumped the POTUS. Kamala “Lotus” (Kamala means Lotus in the Hindu heartland) Harris along with Joe has waved the “Hand” away and said “Bye-Don” to make the White House a For-Biden territory for Trump.
Meanwhile, Trump has declared that he is the true…
The recent victory of India over Australia at the Gabba has been celebrated by the world media with worthy praises for the Indian team. Social media has been in an overdrive mode with memes too! All the same, it set me thinking. Do games and corporates have anything in common? I could list down five learnings that can be extended to corporate life as well.
Learning No 1:
Success can bring a sense of complacency
Australia had not lost a single match on this ground since 1988. Further, having bowled India out earlier for a measly 36, an all-time low…
The quest to conquer the Covid-19 virus in a lighter “vein”
Covid-19 has given the world the jitters.
A large number of companies have announced that their products are ready to combat Covid-19. Its old news that hand wash and sanitizers are considered to be extremely effective at eliminating the virus. In case you sneeze and the virus lands on the floor, we now have a floor wash that will take care of it.
In order to keep the virus out, some offices installed “disinfectant tunnels” to prevent the spread of the virus. …
With the Chihuahua found safe and sound, the stray lovers had waged a counter attack mentioning that the dogs were being portrayed as cannibals (I thought only humans eating humans are cannibals- guess, I am wrong- at least politically).
The discussions on the count of dogs in the society continued. One person remarked that if pet dogs were included, the complex had 72 dogs and that made even the lifts a dangerous place to be. …
I recently shifted into a high rise building inside a gated community. Just before the pandemic broke out. I’m coming to terms with the challenges that the gated community residents face.
Now, I am a part of the WhatsApp group of owners. Getting into the group was a two-month process as it was packed to capacity and I had to wait until someone made way for me. I felt like I had arrived in life- just the way a waitlisted passenger who moves from RAC to a confirmed berth in a train!
And then I started my journey with my…
There seems to be a new storm in the Maggi cup brewing.
And it is linked to TRPs, short for ‘Television Rating Points’. The Mumbai police have busted a racket where a few channels have apparently manipulated the TRPs. Crime rate in Mumbai seems to have dropped since the spread of the pandemic. Also, it appears that the entire population of Mumbai has suddenly become extremely rule abiding- thereby, enabling police to divert the resources from pandemic duty to graver issues like TRP rigging.
A bowl of Maggi seems easier to untangle. And since I love cryptic crosswords, this seemed…
The build up to the bills is interesting and some new perspectives are emerging across the country.
When the bill came up for discussion in the Lok Sabha, opposition attempted to convert it into a Lock Sabha. But the ruling party moved it swiftly and took it to the Raj-“ya” Sabha where the bill got passed. The bills then went to the President, which is not un-precedented.
Congress protested against the “Minimum Support Price” and the bills by calling them “Black Laws”. This seems to be taken to heart by the Shiromani A-kali Dal (SAD) who possibly has interpreted it…
Yeah, I always wanted to create my own blog. But never got myself to doing it. Until today.
And the inspiration has come from rather unexpected quarters.
There are three people who are the reason for this first article- one unknown (may even be fictional!) and two friends- Yogesh and Manish.
Let us start with the unknown.
There is a person Venkatachalam (I don’t know whether this is a real person or a fictional name used by someone- but let me assume that it is indeed Venkatachalam)
Venkatachalam has written a very nicely worded post on the current happenings regarding…
